Kevyn Sebastian
is a Structural Integrationist who’s multi-faceted approach gets to the root cause of pain and injury. She holds a strong belief that most chronic and acute pain and injury is the result of muscle, fascia and postural imbalance and weakness. These imbalances lead to incorrect bio-mechanical patterns which eventually cause pain and injury. Her approach is a combination of very precise and very deep tissue myo- fascial release, along with structural alignment assessment and correction and a neuromuscular functional strength program to help the client restore from injury and re-stabilize for performance activity. Since Kevyn’s sessions are a combination of very dynamic, active bodywork as well as functional strength and stretching, the client remains clothed, wearing something comfortable that allows them to move around freely.
Kevyn has just come to the Bay Area from Austin, Texas where she was in practice for nearly 10 years. Her practice was with a physical therapy clinic, which is where she gained much of her background training and experience. She currently studies with M.D./ Osteopath, Dr. Guy Voyer, with whom she continues her education. “I feel strongly that to finally get to the root cause of pain and injury, we must address all of the factors that are ultimately contributing. This is not only how we get rid of pain and greatly reduce the risk of injury, but how we maintain vitality and well-being on a long term basis.”
In her practice, Kevyn addresses pain and injury issues ranging from sports injury to chronic pain such as :
- chronic and acute back, shoulder and neck pain and injury
- headache and migraine pain
- t.m.j. pain
- plantar fasciitis
- knee pain and injury
- tennis elbow
- whiplash
- fibromyalgia
