Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points are described as hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle that are associated with palpable nodules in taut bands of muscle fibers. The nodules are said to be small contraction knots and a common elicit pain. They usually develop from sudden trauma, postural dysfunctions, or stress. They cause the muscle to shorten making it unable to function properly until the trigger points are released. Compression of a trigger point may elicit local tenderness, referred pain, or motor dysfunction. As the trigger point releases it allows the muscle or fascia to return to its normal length. This work provides great relief to both acute and chronic conditions.
